Casual or otherwise, what is important to consider is whether the leave was paid one or it was Leave Without Pay (LWP). If it is paid one then employee is eligible to get the remuneration and if it was without pay then obviously employee forfeits wages for that period. If the employee has unauthorised absence then also he/she forfeits the wages for which he/she was absent.

I opine that in the Payroll it will be Days Payable not Days Present (DP means - Days Payable) hence you need to mention the number of days the employee is eligible for salary in that particular month. If it is clearly mentioned as Days present then need to make necessary corrections in the Pay roll format.
Days payable consists of all sorts of leaves ( Casual / Sick / Earned/ Maternity / Special leave / Holidays / Weekly offs etc.,). Normally an excel sheet is prepared as supportive document concluded by the Days payable and finally the Days payable will be posted in to pay roll with other earnings like OT amount / deductions like advances , ESI / PF / PT / Income Tax etc., etc.,) hence check for details and if it Days Present then make necessary changes.
