Hi This is good news for new mothers but I want to ask one question if a employee on maternity leave from 1 jan 2017 and according to old maternity leave rule her leave is going to end on 31 March 2017. So is this amendment in maternity leave rule applies for her or not ?can she avail the benefits of 14 weeks extended leave??

Amendment have not become law as on today.Once it become, from that day onwards ,employee is eligible for 26 weeks benefits, 8 weeks prenatal and 18 weeks post natal. If as on that date an employee is already on maternity as per earlier law she will be eligible for the balance of 26 weeks.
