EPFO Notification on Aadhaar Requirement
As per EPFO Notification No. Pension - 1/17(10)/2016-17/Jeevan Pramaan/32049, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has observed that according to the gazette notification No. S 26 (E) dated 04-01-2017, instructions were provided to submit Aadhaar or the Aadhaar enrolment ID slip mandatorily along with the claim form under the Employee Pension Scheme. It was noted that it is not possible to sanction withdrawal benefit claims in Form 10 C, leading to issues in the settlement of withdrawal claims. Therefore, the EPFO has decided that obtaining Aadhaar should be mandatory for the time being for pension 10 D claims (submitted by the first claimant) and not in withdrawal cases in Form 10 C (to claim withdrawal benefit).

The EPFO's decision to make Aadhaar mandatory for pension claims under Form 10 D while not requiring it for withdrawal cases in Form 10 C aims to streamline the process and ensure smoother settlement of claims. To comply with this requirement, pensioners and members of the EPS, 1995, need to ensure they submit their Aadhaar details or the Aadhaar enrolment ID slip along with the claim form when applying for pension benefits. Here is a practical guide to navigate this process effectively:
Steps to Submit Aadhaar for Pension Claims (Form 10 D)
🔹 Ensure you have your Aadhaar card or Aadhaar enrolment ID slip ready.
🔹 Fill out Form 10 D accurately, providing all necessary details.
🔹 Attach a copy of your Aadhaar card or the Aadhaar enrolment ID slip to the form.
🔹 Submit the completed form along with the Aadhaar document to the EPFO office or through the designated online portal.
🔹 Await confirmation of your submission and follow up on the status of your pension claim.
By following these steps and adhering to the EPFO's requirement regarding Aadhaar submission for pension claims, pensioners and EPS members can facilitate the processing of their claims efficiently and ensure timely disbursement of benefits.
