Dear Sir,
In our company notice period is six months. You will agree with me no company will wait for six months for the new recruit to join.
They are taking 3-4 months and makes the resigned employees to chase them for confirming the earler relieving date.In some cases people are prepared to surrender earned leave and some are prepared to pay the salary. I heard (from the engineer resigned recently )they take Basic and DA for payment of notice period wages.
Request your suggestions to face the abobe situations at the time of leaving.

I presume that the 6 months notice period is mentioned in the offer of appointment. I agree that 6 months notice period is unrealistic at all levels. Over the years if new joiners refuse to accept 6 months notice period at the time of joining, then the recruitment pressure will ease out the notice period back to say 3 months. In my opinion there is no legal perspective to notice period.
