Dear All,
An employee worked in our company since 2011. He resigned in September 2015 and applied for PF claim through an activated UAN. Now, once again, he is employed by us starting this month (April '16). Can we use his old UAN, which was already activated and used during his previous service, or should we go for a new one?
Kindly advise.

Hi,
Sure, you can continue using the same UAN when generating Form 11 on the online portal, i.e., for your first employment, you have the option of entering the UAN No. For every subsequent employment, the EPF No. will change, but it is not necessary to change the UAN No.

Please create a new PF account number and link that PF number to the old UAN number. A new UAN number is not required if they already have one; this applies to new recruits or re-hires. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
