Dear HR Fraternity,
Filling out EPF Forms, whether handwritten or on a PC, is a tedious task, especially when attrition is substantial. To make the lives of my colleagues more comfortable, please find attached an 'AUTOMATED' Form 5. The form can be generated with a click of a button and can accommodate up to 15 employees. Just follow the rules outlined below to get the forms in around 15 to 30 seconds flat.
1. Maintain the Employee Master as per the attached sample file 'Dummy_Employee_Master-07-08.xls' with the first record starting from row no. 18. Do not alter the sheet names (Employee_Records and Resignations) or delete the 'Template' sheet. Any changes to the source file format will affect the output.
2. Ensure the source file is closed before generating the form. The source file will open and close automatically.
3. The form is designed for A4 paper.
4. Open the file 'Form-5.xls'.
5. Set macros security to 'medium' under Tools -> Macros -> Security.
6. Enable macros to receive results.
7. Choose the Source File when prompted.
8. Run the macro by pressing <Alt>+<F8> and clicking <Run>.
9. Enter the month and year for the form generation.
10. Keep your fingers crossed.
11. The form will be generated, but PF numbers need to be input manually. Update the code for automation. Generate the Form-5 for September 2007 before using this.
