Dear all,
I am working as an HR officer. I have a query regarding the Factory Act. If the company name is the same but the location is different, then is the factory act applicable or not? For instance, if the worker strength in one unit is 30 and in another unit is 10. Please provide your advice.
Thanks, Sam

Factory Act is very clear on its applicability. It states:
1. A manufacturing process is to be carried out.
2. Employment strength of 10 or more employees if the manufacturing process is carried out with the use of power and 20 or more employees without the use of power.
Furthermore, the Factory Act is applicable to the location (Industrial Premises). The name of the unit may remain the same for registration under the Factory Act.
I hope this resolves your doubts.
