Hi all,

I am pursuing the 4th semester of MBA (HR) from JIMS through IP University in Delhi. I am on the lookout for my first job.

To give a brief profile - I have done graduation in B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.) from D.U.

I did my summer training at Airtel, where I worked on the project 'Return on Investment of Employees Training'. Apart from working on my project there, I also coordinated an entire training program, created SDPs (Self Development Plans) for employees, scheduled and communicated about the various training programs, and evaluated feedback forms from the training programs.

Academically, I have been an achiever throughout my student life. I was the college topper in both graduation and in MBA (1st Semester).

I am looking for a role in HR in a reputable organization that can provide me with ample opportunities to learn and grow professionally. In return, I can assure you that I will give my best to the organization.

So if anyone has a job for which you think I'm a suitable candidate, please get in touch with me.

My email id is reena_gugnani@yahoo.co.in

Please send an email to my id, so that I can then forward my resume to you.

Thanks and regards,

Reena

Dear Reena,

I found your message posted on the search thread.

I was curious if you could share with me certain ideas about your summer project, namely:

1. Return on Investment in Employees Training

2. SDPs

I would specifically be curious about the parameters you took into consideration and the framework.

To brief you about me, I work in the Financial Industry in a generalist HR role. I have a total of 3 years of work experience in the Financial Industry. I wanted to undertake similar projects for my Organization. I would be glad if you could provide a broad framework on both the projects you have worked on.

About your Query:

Since you have done a project in T&D, it's very natural you find a role in T&D function in the service industry.

You could be contemplating questions like - Are you keen on taking up a generalist HR role as it would be different from a T&D role.

The location preference:

Let me know about it - I can forward you certain consultant contacts.

You may start right there.

You can easily find an opening in the service industry and these days Finance is a hot market so make your pick.

Do write in.

Many thanks,

Nad

Dear Nad,

Thank you for your valued suggestions. However, I think you didn't notice one thing - this message is more than 1 year old. Now, I have almost 1 year of experience and am currently involved in recruitments in the IT industry.

Now, about ROI and SDPs...

As far as ROI is concerned, I used the Kirkpatrick model and performed calculations up to level 3 only. For further details, you can check the thread at https://www.citehr.com/1-vt2350.html?start=0.

Now, about SDPs...

We created detailed plans for every employee based on certain parameters. We identified their strengths and weaknesses on these parameters and accordingly developed SDPs for them, which included technical, functional, as well as managerial development plans.

If you need any further information, please feel free to write back.

Regards,
Reena
