How should NCP be shown while filing e-return in the following case :
1) if a person is drawing 25,000/- p.m and is contbn is 1800/- pm. If due to 3 days lop his salary gets reduced to 22500/- (25000/30*3days), does his contbn remains same @ 1800/- or shud 15000/- ceiling and 1800/- contbn be reduced proportionately????
2 ) if there will not be any change in 15000/- ceiling and 1800/- contbn, shud NCP be shown in the e-return ?

Hi
In ECR you will update the Basic wages. If at all the there is change in Basic then you should give the reason. Even though the contribution amount of Rs. 1800/- will remain same the Basic will change. It is always better to show as NCP

NCP has to be recorded and contribution has to be reduced accordingly. If contribution for 30 days attendance is 1800, for 27 days it will be 1800x27/30 = 1620.
Ceiling salary 15000 means it is the salary for full month. If attendance is not full, then how can be the contribution full?

Actually we have consolidated pay pattern. We take 25000 as a whole and remit 1800/- so, even if the sly gets reduced to 22500/- we remit 1800/- since we are not calculating 12% either on 25000/- or on 22500/- But here when i had asked abt EPF I had missed out about Basic + da. Hence the confusion. But thanq for clarifying the concept NCP and am clear now.

It is not clear that if there is NCP, will you remit full or partial contribution? Abbas.P.S
