The Government of Maharashtra has introduced changes to the Professional Tax rates, effective from 01 July 2014. The revised tax slabs for salaried employees in Maharashtra are as follows:
- If monthly wages do not exceed Rs. 7,500, the professional tax is NIL.
- If monthly wages exceed Rs. 7,501 but do not exceed Rs. 10,000, the professional tax is Rs. 175.
- If monthly wages exceed Rs. 10,000, the professional tax is Rs. 2500 per annum (Rs. 300 in February, Rs. 200 in other months).
