Job Description for Business Development Executives/Managers

Suiting the functionality of your firm, you can pick from the following duties:

- Professionally and effectively employ sales skills to achieve targeted sales.
- Increase the level of sales and business mix from individual clients.
- Increase the share of each market sector.

Research and Database

- Maintain an accurate and current database.
- Identify and develop sources of potential clients.
- Effectively communicate with clients to gain commitment to purchase.
- Maintain regular contact with key clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients via telephone, face-to-face, and written communication.
- Develop and maintain relationships that benefit both the client and the company.
- Overcome client resistance/objections to products.

Client Feedback and Communication

- Advise the Managing Director and Sales and Marketing Director of client feedback/comments relating to product content and pricing, as well as company performance.
- Provide a weekly schedule of planned activities.
- Achieve sales activities within specified time scales as directed by the Managing Director and Group Sales and Marketing Director.
- Conduct targeted tele-sales campaigns to achieve sales.
- Match appropriate products to clients’ requirements.
- Demonstrate a full knowledge of all products, relevant selling points, and benefits.

Competitor Analysis and Product Knowledge

- Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of competitor products, highlight their disadvantages, and promote relevant benefits.
- Keep abreast of competitor activity and recommend any necessary tactical action.
- Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of products.
- Provide time-phased, qualified reports on achievements and activities.
- Plan diary to make effective use of the working day.
- Maintain accurate records of all contacts with clients.
- Handle correspondence related to all selling activities.

Professionalism and Team Collaboration

- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Liaise with other members of the Sales Team to actively promote sales opportunities, exchange information, and increase professionalism.
- Undertake all responsibilities with reference to procedures.
- Ensure a safe working area and work procedures in line with the company’s Health and Safety policy.
- Obtain necessary authority for expenses and record the same in line with Company Policy.
- Undertake any reasonable duties as specified by the Managing Director and Group Sales and Marketing Director.
