My profile has been up on monster.com since last month. Last month from my 1-1 discussion with my manager it had appeared that they felt I was not upto the mark for a promotion (though he did not outright say I'm out of promotion), and I was angry about it as I had worked so hard, and started job search. I ended up with an offer but today in the monthly 1-1 with my manager, he said he is recommending me for a promotion. I was happy and tried to pass up the offer I got, but when I explained the reasons to the job consultant, she said it may be possible that my employer has seen my resume up on monster.com and hence came up with the promotion. But on my monster.com profile, when I go to "Employers that viewed my resume" my employer name is not there (but it shows only till 2 days ago, due to the large number of employer views). So I want to understand when does an employer's name appear there as I don't know the layout shown to the headhunters/employers. Does it show the candidates name for example, without them having to click and open (only after which their name get added to the 'viewed' list)?

The reason I'm trying to find out is that, after I tried to pass up the offer, the company offering me further hiked their offer to an extent almost impossible for me to resist, and if I leave I want to feel less bad about my own employer if they have been playing games (i.e. decided to promote me only after somehow knowing that I'm already starting job searching).

Dear About to be caught,
My reply comes to you late, but here's an option to everyone facing your question or situation. Please choose the option to hide your resume to a list of employers in the job sites. You can choose any number of them. However, consultants might still be able to see them and report to your employer, if they wish to. The chances for this remain thin, as most of them might not.
Social network and talent communities offer you to choose the privacy options. This can help you control who views your data. LinkedIn, however might not. If you are updating or interacting with the recruiters other than their messaging system, remains visible.
Trust this helps. Wish you all the best !
