I am an MBA fresher looking for jobs. A few days back, I had an interview with a consultancy for their entry-level position. I was selected by them, but they are asking for an amount of Rs. 12,000 for training me for a period of 2 months. They mentioned that I would receive the job offer letter afterward. My question is, should I pay the money to the consultancy for my training, or should I look for jobs elsewhere?

Thank you.

If you were aware of the scheduled paid training after the interview, then that is fine. However, no company or consultancy should charge any amount for training. They are hiring an employee to do work and provide remuneration based on the work assigned according to the package. You should not have to pay any amount to them. It might be better to explore other job opportunities.

They said that they won't be paying me anything during the training period. They also mentioned that after getting the job (i.e., after the training is over), there is no fixed salary, and the whole salary will be performance-based.
