Can someone tell me if there is any law / rule on fixation of basic salary that means how much %age should be someone’s gross salary should form as basic pay.
Hi, With reference to your above query, actually basic amount varies according to present minimum wages, usually you can consider 30% to 55% as basic amount.

Mostly basic fixation varies from company to company,mostly 30-50% is calculated on gross salary.

Thanks a ton Nagesh and sailakshmi... but i still have doubt. Mine asking this question was related to one of our outsource agency. They are giving approx. 15K salary to their employees and bifurcation of salary shows 1K rupees as basic salary which somehow i feel this is wrong but I dont have any substantial proof to ask him that you should pay minimum 30% or 50% of gross as basic.

I think he wants to pay less amount towards pf,but u can ask him because for the gross salary basic should be btwn 30 to 50,kindly send me salary details format,so that i can guide you.
