Hi All, I have to prepare a policy on Contract Employment for our organization. Can you please suggest what things should be included in the policy, or can you share some sample policies?
Thanks,

What do you mean by the term "Contract Employment"? Do you want to hire the services of people for a particular term/period, or do you want to hire the services of people through a third person/agency called a Contractor? If you want to hire the services of people through a third person/agency in your premises, then the Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970 will come into play.
Fixed-Term Employment
Fixed-term employment can be established if the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act 1946 is applicable to you, and your Standing Orders permit this type of employment. If the IE(SO) Act 1946 is not applicable to you, you can establish your own set of rules within the framework of the law.
Normally, fixed-term employment is offered when the employment is available for a fixed term only. For example, if a project is two years long, you can have fixed-term employment until the end of the project. In short, you can engage a person in employment for a particular project until its completion. Employment in clerical or similar permanent positions cannot be on a fixed-term basis.
I hope you have understood the above concepts.
Thanks and regards,
