Hello All,
Please help me with this...
There are few employees in my company working under third party contract in the production unit(in the shopfloor)...
As per the labour law, Are they eligible for the Sick Leave and Casual Leave??? Please elaborate.

Dear Ritika,
Yes, they are eligible for SL and CL as per labour law.
Total leaves in a year - 27days
E.L.-15
C.L- 6
S.L -6
At the end of year maximum 15 E.L can be encashed on client request.
Kindly confirm with Contract Labour Agreement act.

Dear Ritika,
Although a company takes labour through contractors, as per labour laws for contractual labour, the hiring company is the principal employer for all purposes. Hence we must ensure that it is clearly included in the agreement with the contractor that he provides all minimum wages & leave benefits apart from EPF, ESI & other benefits. Hence the contractual labour is eligible for minimum leave benefits as applicable to regular employees.
