Dear Friends,

I am working with a small organistaion. I appointed as a Manager, HR on 11-09-12. Earlier, Orgnation was a shop and recently expend its size to become a company, But the mind set is the same of few old employees.

I am new to this orgnisation and started my work to make system for the betterment.

Few New Emoloyees joind on the better position with better Salary & benefits.

I have to face conflicts & resisting attitude, its but obvious. I take it positive that i m working. But today little bitter thing happen, An employee, who is senior here (has been demoted before my joinig) started to argue on one system. I asked him to go thru the general way/system i made as per managment. He was using bad words, but i was just in my high volume. He was accepting to listen me, he was shouthing and we calling me "Tu" and "as a helper" and lots of other things. I left the area, where he was sitting, even though he was using some stupid for me.

I can understand that but dont feel to accept.

later, he came to me and appologise. I said ok and have no bad feeling for it. I know it happen.

Now, i dont want to take this to managment. Am I right at my place?

Hello Dear,
It really nice that you adopted humanistic approach to deal with the problem.
As we can take cite of Maruti Suzuki instance, the entire episode is having one final answer that they were lacking somewhere in management, proper handling of situation. Conflict and Grievances are natural in any organization need of hour is to find the problem and take corrective step from there. Proper co-ordination is necessary to resolve conflict.

Hi Dear,
Though i am not that experienced in HR field biu still i liked your approach. It is showing your patience..taking the issue to management wont serve any purpose.but yeh that person has realised his mistake so thats fine..In future to avoid these situations you can make a policy or may be serious of mailers wherein they will understand their responsibilities as well as also how they should behave with the colligues.
Thanks
Roop

Dear Mr. Sharma.aksh,
Try to sit back and sense the perspective of the situation that critically needs to be addressed. Its not about been apologetic. Think about the culture of work that would cultivate if the person once says that it's his bad and does the same again. Empathize the repentant behaviour of that person but in the other case, you may also need to assume that he might be trying to manupilate the situation. In such case, et him back and do not be offesive on his rueful thought.
Conversely, keep an eye on him. Go out of your way to put their needs in front of yours until you feel that things are on the mend. Your deed in thinking is correct, solve and get a solution rather than complaining. If things dont vindicate, you can approach your management.
