I have a unique issue and I need to know what kind of problem will come to me & solution.

Below is my issue.

In 2003 I joint a company ABC Technologies which is a proprietorship company.I got offer & appointment in the name of ABC Technologies. After 2 year they converted to ABC Innovations private limited and they also opened a new company called ABC Connect private limited. Innovations they registered for service tax and connect they registered for sales tax. Later I unknowingly transferred from innovations to connect 4 years before.

My employment history goes like this.

1. worked in ABC technologies for 2 years - software developer

2. worked in ABC Innovations for 3 years - Team leader

3. worked in ABC connect for 4 years - Project Manager

All companies has the same managing director. we don't have employee profident fund, graduity etc.,

Now my doubt is,

1) Actually I am planned to look for job in big MNC company like Microsoft/IBM etc., What kind of HR document they will ask and what i need to produce in order to satisfy my employment history.

Pls help me out.

Ms. Mani,
As you have mentioned your employment history, in any other organisation they will ask you for your resignation letter form previous company and appointment letter of new company to verify your continuous employment history. Else they may ask for Inter company transfer letter.

I have few questions for you first :

-Could you please explain your statement "unknowingly transferred from innovations to connect 4 years before"

-Are you holding all the salary slips whatever you have been paid with Innovation or Connect?

-Do you have your appointment and transfer letters provided by your employer?

You joined ABC Technology which turned into ABC Innovation after some time (Name & Identity Change of Company) but there was no change in your employment so you were still an employee with a new identity of your first company (ABC Technology).

Later you found that you have transferred to another firm viz ABC Connect but you were not informed which is really surprising and something you need to explain in this regard first.

Second, you are with ABC Connect from last 4 years and you knew that you are working with a company which is a second and sister concern company of your old one that as been turned into ABC Innovation from ABC Technology but never asked your present employer to provide you your appointment letter or transfer letter, is another thing that you have to clear to us.

Do you have employment Transfer letter or appointment letter with ABC Connect?

im simple language, if you are having all the appointment/transfer letter and salary slips of your emoluments with details that you have been provided by your employer(s), there is no need to be worry about anything. You can simply answer to your recruiters the same employment history and has to provide the documents that i have mentioned above.

But be careful, your statement that you were ""unknowingly transferred from innovations to connect 4 years before" can put you in danger and you have to be clear about this.

Lastly, i would say, you have really a good experience and a mature person, and Im sure you can handle the interview and answer the questions of your recruiter easily but you have to clear few things in your mind with the things i have said above and ..

-No confusing statement/answer you have to make to your recruiter

-Truth, clear and confident direct answer can help you alot.

-Your good experience and strong knowledge of your work is gonna play a big role

Since the MD of all the companies is the same person & also promoted, I presume, by the same set of investors, you can project them as Group Companies, with you service among all the 3 companies being inter-company transfers.

Dear AK Arora,

I don't have any salary slip, appointment/transfer certificates. Since our office does not have defined process, salary slip is given on-demand only. I have one or two which I requested for buying credit card. Usually the salary will be credited in to our Citibank account with transaction remark "Salary from ABC".

Any body who hear this will be surprised on the way we working. Since I get a decent salary and work wise also i am very much satisfied so far I didn't bother until recently I got disturbed. One of my colleague got selected in CTS and he got rejected due to document verification. So i asked my account department (only one person for whole organization) to rectify the issues (we don't have separate HR and Account Dept is taking care of HR ). She is also willing to help but clueless on what kind of documents need to be provided.

Can u tell me

1) whether appointment letter for ABC innovation and ABC connect need to be given or just transfer letter is sufficient since all company is governed by same person.

2) whether any special document need to be prepared for the transfer of ABC technologies to ABC Innovations (since ABC technologies is merged to become innovations private limited)

3) if you can given me any sample or link it will be helpful.

Hi Mani,

Well in that case, you need to carry both appointment letter and transfer letter along with your Relieving/Experience which supposed to say that you have worked with them say since 12-02-2003 till 25-09-2012 or 12-.02.2003 to 14.06.2008 with ABC Innovation (Technology).

Relieving/experience letter along with your transfer and appointment letter is the proof of your employment and while verification these all document proof it too.

Second, i didnt get this Special Document? Could you please let me know what exactly you meant to say with Special Documents"

The required document for employment verification i have mentioned above that you have to carry and present to new employer as a proof of your employment with ABC Group. Yes ABC Group that you have to get mentioned in your relieving letter with presenting transfer letter of your appointment.

Let me explain these all to you :

When your recruiter/new employer will ask you to present the documents of your employment or ask you to describe it, you have to say the exactly you have mentioned in your first post here.

You have to say that you have worked with ABC Group of companies (ABC Innovation which emerged from Technology and ABC Connect).

Basically you have to explain Company profile of your ABC Company/Group wisely. As you have spent a really good time and are one of very old employees of this ABC Group, you explanation will also describe how much you know about your company, what experience you have gained and the history of your employment automatically to your new company/recruiters
