Hi seniors, please help in the calculation of man-days for a particular department so that I can resolve the issue of proxy/OT. In our blood bank department, we have 4 technicians. When I calculated their last month's attendance, I found 35, 39, and 40 attendances for each person. Kindly help me determine if their attendance is correct or not.

Including weekly half-days, employees need to be paid for 30 days in a month. Any remaining days beyond this should be compensated as overtime (OT) payment.

Example Calculation

For example: 26 days + 4 weekly half-days = 30 payable days.

With a Gross Salary of Rs. 12,000/- per month: 12,000/30 * 30 days = Earned Gross salary of Rs. 12,000/-

I just want to know how to avoid proxy issues. For example, last month, we had four technicians in our blood bank department. However, during salary calculation, we found their attendance recorded as 34, 37, and 38 days, which is not justifiable. I am seeking guidance on how to calculate man-days accurately to prevent such proxy situations.

For instance, in a month with 30 days and 2 paid offs, the total salary for an employee is calculated as x/30 + 32.

Thank you.

Dear Sonia, please consider only on monthly calendar basis like in the Aug-12 only 31 days and Sep-12 only 30 days and remaining you consider as OT hrs. per day 8 hrs. Regards, Jay
