Hi,

My employer is not facilitating the LTA and Medical reimbursement. He is giving just other allowances, and they are taxed at the source.

Is it possible to claim LTA while filing Tax? I have all proofs for LTA such as Leave and Boarding Pass for my family.

Is it possible to claim Medical reimbursement while filing Tax? I have all medical bills and Pharmacy receipts.

In this case, has my employer already given Form 16? If LTA is possible, do I need to change the income under salaries value while filling the ITR? Please guide.

Thanks, Karthik

LTA is at the sole discretion of company policies. If LTA is not provided by your employer, you can't claim the LTA expenses on your own for tax exemption purposes.

Medical allowance or medical reimbursements are different subjects. If your company provides you with an allowance for medical expenses, you can claim for tax exemption (up to 15k p.a). If your company has extended facilities for medical reimbursement, that expenditure will not be reflected in your Form 16 as it is reimbursement based on the production of bills and the limit set by the employer.
