Dear Ajay,

The hazard in Radiography is radiation. The Radiation Protection Rules are published in 2004. Copy attached. Also attached is a document on how dangerous radiation is. You have not mentioned what kind of Radiography is done in your company. Radiography applications are in Medical Science, Industry (particularly for Non-Destructive Testing NDT), etc. You may prepare your own SOP after reading the attachments. In case you require more inputs, please let us know your application in detail, preferably with photographs.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear All,

Radiation hazards are usually not well-known. The awareness level is also not up to the mark. The radiation hazard was acute after the tsunami in Japan last year in the month of March and the subsequent explosion at the Fukushima Plant, leading to the release of radioactive material. Let us discuss more on this thread so that awareness is increased in society.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Ajay, If you have a radiation hazard, I am sure you must be displaying cautionary boards. However for the benefit of other members one such image is attached. Thanks & Regards, Sudhir

Thank you, Sudhir Sir, for your valuable notes.

I also have one more query. Our industry has a light diesel oil storage tank farm area, and lightning arrestor spikes are installed on the tanks. Is it allowed to install lightning arrestor spikes on the tank, or should it be under the umbrella of 30 degrees or 45 degrees? Please let me know about the correct procedure. Hoping for your prompt response.

Warm Regards,

Dear Ajay,

Please refer to the NFPA 70E as it clearly states the requirements and installation methods for lightning. I am a bit busy with exams at the moment, but I will make sure to refer to it and provide you with the exact reference.

Thank you.
