Hello All, I completed my MBA with a specialization in HR in 2010. I searched a lot for an HR job but could not find any other than consultancy jobs. I have been working in content writing for the past year and now I wish to transition into the HR domain. What steps should I take to prepare myself to qualify for an HR job? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Genelia

Hi all, Even I feel the same way. I graduated with an MBA specializing in HR in 2010. I searched extensively for a job in the HR field, wandering all over Hyderabad, but ended up with only low salaries. I was not satisfied with the salaries offered by companies/consultancies, especially when my father retired from his job, making my financial situation difficult. I became frustrated and started looking for jobs in various fields, including BPOs. Eventually, I transitioned to the quality side in a software company for a better package. I have been working here for over 8 months now, but I have lost interest in continuing. I have decided to return to the HR field.

Current Opportunities in HR and SAP HR Module

I recently joined SAP in the HR module and plan to quit my current job soon. I would like to know the current opportunities available in the HR field and SAP HR module.

Hi Geneia, please try to find or apply for a fresher's job. There are numerous employers who are looking for new and fresh people. Don't lose hope. You also need to register yourself on job portals for this. I understand that you are a fresher and you want to get a job soon, which is really important for you so as not to waste much time.

I have seen many fresher openings on Naukri.com last week. You need to visit and contact the employers with your candidature. Keep trying and searching for a job, but I also want you to improve your basic skills and knowledge about HR through learning on this platform or other HR sites. Certainly, this will help you a lot in your search.

Also, you can send me your CV, and I will let you know if I come across any good openings for you.

Regards

Even I opted for a career in HR. I passed out with my M.B.A in 2010 and did a lot of research on the market and HR careers. I have a dream to join a big MNC, and I would like to start my career in an MNC company as an HR professional. Eventually, I had to make a lot of compromises and started my career as an HR executive with a small firm. Don't focus on the salary initially, as it may not be great. If you gain enough experience, you can then demand better pay. You can also consider joining a consultancy to gain market insights and learn about the current openings.

Thank you.
