As Srikumar says, conceptually easier to understand, but not very sure of its practicality. This is somewhat similar to something I was reading in the morning on How to manage one's anger and the advocacy was in the instant the event takes place, one is expected to inform oneself that he/she doesnt want that negative experience and walks away, atleast mentally, from the situation / experience.

One does encounter bossess who are at the very core insecure and feel threatened by their juniors or peers and its people of this type (I am aware that I am generalising here) who come across as egomaniacal, manipulative and control freaks. Very often its people with this type of personality / behaviour who happen to be in position of power and can be very abusive in terms of their relationship with their subordinates. They are often seen as partisan in their behaviour.

Adopting the "FED EX" mind set in dealing with personalities such as these is difficult. Moreover taking the perspective that whatever one is getting by way of the abuse from a manipulative boss is something that is coming from the universe is advocating a fatalistic perspective.
