Hi, I have received a letter from my company stating that I have joined my competitor, and they would be taking legal action against me if I don't respond with a reason as to why I have joined the competitor. I have already received my relieving letter and experience letter from the company.

The offer letter that I signed had a clause that I cannot join a competitor for a period of 1 year. Can the company file a case against me, and what would be their course of action? The letter that I have received is on the company letterhead.

As far as I know, it is a constitutional right of a person under Section 27 to work for any company. I just wanted to understand, can I take action against the company as well because they are threatening me by filing a complaint against me, which is against the law. Can you please advise?

Thank you very much for your assistance, Mr. Sayeed. I have one more question. The company has sent me a letter on the company letterhead requesting details. Should I reply to the letter or simply ignore it and continue with my usual work? What would you advise as the next course of action?
