Hi All, I have completed 4 years and 6 months in my current organization and have now resigned. Some seniors mentioned to me that a person with 4 years and 6 months of experience is eligible for gratuity. I just wanted to check if that is correct because my company refused to pay me the same since I have not finished 5 years. Please help.

Dear Shalombaria, To be eligible for Gratuity, you need to complete full 5 years. However, once you are eligible, 6 months or above is treated as one full year. With regards Sudhakaran

Since you have not completed 5 years or 4 years and 240 days fully, you are not eligible for receiving gratuity. Treating 6 months as a full year will not be applicable in your case.
