Dear All,

I am wondering if someone can help me with an issue regarding safety norms. What exactly is it? Is it a safety policy, manual, or should we obtain certification from OSHA or ISO 14000? I am in a very urgent situation, please let me know as soon as possible. Awaiting your reply.

Dear Mr. Ramkishore,

From your post, it's not very clear what issue you are facing. Please state your concern clearly so that any of the forum members can help you.

Also, why are you wondering about your friend? Many people benefit from this site, and there are members who have a helping mentality. Try to avoid using language that may discourage people from replying to your thread. Being harsh like this and expecting help from others would be foolishness.

Hi, my dear Dilip. Wondering is not a harsh word, I suppose. Thanks for your reply. Then I clearly said I am looking to find out what exactly the safety norms are. Why not read it once again? What is your problem?

Dear Ramkishore,

Industry has to work safely. In order to work safely, each industry has to make certain efforts. It also has to establish and maintain certain standards for its safety activities. The level or standard of safety that is aimed at must be publicized.

The first thing they have to do is declare a policy. Then, draw procedures to comply with the policy. These policies/procedures will establish duties, responsibilities, accountability, and authority of every category employed with regard to safety. It will also include how safety will be integrated into every activity in the manufacturing process.

In a nutshell, "Safety Norms for manufacturing companies are a set of standard procedures" for achieving safety. If you create a safety manual, it is supposed to provide you with these norms.
