I am working as a Trainee engineer in a company in gulf. More than one year passes still my designation is as trainee engineer. And nothing has been changed my salary , my place , my designation nothing. First of all I would like to say that I started to work here to get some experience and now also I am still doing the same things again and again. Learning nothing new. I am not at all interested to continue in this same thing now. Time once goes wont come back again. So I donít want to waste my time like this here . something should change . but nothing yet. Office timing is for 9.5 hours a day and salary is very less than 2100. nowadays time doesnít go for me at all as I donít feel the job interesting. There is no use to speak to higher people as when I do they say I should change the company. But its not a simple thing to change a company . where to get a new job. I am trying from few months. but not getting anywhere. Please suggest what I must do? I tried all my ways. Showed much interest in work. But on February month 2011 increment was given to all people . but me was left out. From that day I lost my hope. Only me. I am of no use here.

As far as I know the basic agreement for any gulf country is for 2 years period in any company, that means, you will get increament only after 2 years of completion. (If you are in direct hire on company Visa)
You mention your present salary is 2100 either Saudia Riyal or UAE dharam or Dollors, the fact is you getting an accurate salary as for fresher that much only expected.
As your back ground is an engineer,so I advice you to be patience and do work for some more months, and keep hunting as well, then definately you will get good chance. (As more experience you have more salary you get)
Wait for more advices from seniors and moderators and process accordingly.

first of all thanks for your reply.
the salary i have said is in Dirhams.
i am not in company visa. and the basic agreement was only for 1 year. so increment arises if the company feels they have any use with me. but i am sure that i am of no use here. this small amount and such a long timing hours is very difficult to manage.
its not easy to survive in a small salary . accomodation also problem . i am facing lots of problems.
but without a job that also not possible. patience is lacking now.

A request, kindly avoid using word "No Use"..Just think if you are no use then why present company took you along way to UAE. There is some thing in you thats why their choosed you. So dont be dishearten. As Ms.Nikita advice just stay there and get some experience certificate and I suggest to look for the job in UAE first, if you didnt get then. Think to come back or else wait for the better oppurtunity.

Well, Now you narated complete situation, so some one help you to get in and now there is lack of assist and increament, as you where since log in UAE and right now you know how present company treating you, then there is no choice except leaving. So just get experience certificate and try to look another oppurtunity or else if you think that you have an ability/strenght to find a good job in india then, come back.

Companies run for profit. If you have a problem, its your own choice. It is for you to prove that you can be useful to them. No company will ever want their best employee to leave. Regarding 9.5 hours working time as too much, its very bad that you think like that, to get the ladder up fast, we have to devote our time and make sure that our boss is happy.
If you think you are being bullied, then you have no chance but to return back after getting your certificates and final settlement.
Also since you are not in company visa, what is your status there. I dont think you can be in tourist visa for such long time.
Give it a thought as getting out of a job is very easy but to prove that you left the job for good reason is hard to your new employer.

Netengineer, If he is getting better package, ask him to switch on. No job guarantees in MNCs in the current context. Any good opportunities knock his door, let him grab it. pon
