Dear All,
There is always controversies surrounding Re-employment to the same company, might be after a short / long stint in other companies.
Most of the companies which i know, strongly oppose this and even have policy not to recruit again a person who have left them before.
Some companies strongly support re-employment, and they even head hunt people who have earlier worked for them and parted ways.
What are the factors leading to \ influencing companies to decide either ways ??
What are the perspective / attitude of the employees in leaving a company and getting re-employed there ? Does this show the level of integrity or lack of focus ??

Hi Sriram,
As Viraj has rightly said its all about the company policy.
May bcoz they want their efficient employees back they offer them Re-employment.
Another aspect is Re-employment reduces thier recruitment cost to certain extent.
My husband has also accepted Re-employment with a leading IT giant.

Hi..
When an employee chooses to resign from the company , he / she would have already made up his / her mind to part with the organization. Reasons being limited growth opportunities, unsavory boss , better opportunity & pay else or some personal reasons. We can assume that he / she would have addressed the problem with current organization, and lost his / her belief in the same. Again why does they go back to the same organization ??
Why does a company choose to recruit a person who have once bygone them and opted for a better company. Is the integral values of the company at risk ??
I am in search of a wholistic view on this subject

Companies can consider recruiting a previous employee based on a Cost-benefit Analysis which includes:
*Employees Relation with the Company.
*Existing Vacancy
*Experience and Knowledge in Specialized area.
*New Skill and Experience he might have achieved.
*Employee Performance when he was in Service.
Similarly Employees can consider reemployment based on multiple factors which includes.
*Reason for leaving previous Employer:
i.e. Whether the issue is resolved now and he will be happy to work there.
*Previous Employer’s Relation with the Employee.
*Previous Employer’s current Brand/Market position.
*Previous Employer’s current offerings for growth and development.
*Issues with working in Current Company (if currently working).
*Any other personal/professional issue which can be better addressed if working with previous Employer.

Hi..
I would like to share my experiences:
I have seen this practice of re employment is very common in BPOs and call center Industry.
The main reason for such policy is that employees have literally grown with the company, so they won't mind taking them back, even if they have chosen to leave the company due to any reason.
Another reason could be that the person who comes back, or willing to come back is welcome in the company as they know the company in and out, weaknesses and strengths all is known, which always brings benefit.
This is what i can think of, i know couple of more examples...will share soon.....

HI,
if an employee will quit to another job means particularly there is some benefit to him.. that's why he quit from that job. if he get all benefits from new company , he is not accept to getin again to that previous company. if so, he is expecting more from previous company.
