though other members have given you sufficient guidelines but plz notice following points-
  • Select your ex students who are neasr by working & try to get some senior professional,try to get them from diversified fieldsviz.-IR,Recruitment,Performace management,Training Etc.
  • Get a very high profile HR professional (VP HR) to chair the summit
  • Fix the agenda either single or diversified like- Different aspects OF HR in contemporary professional word or HR as Strategic Buiseness Partner etc.
  • Calculate the approx. expenses for organising event & take approval from your senior
  • Certainly add your institute profile & advertisement in local media that you are doing this.
  • Must release concluding paper from students that what they learned & some keepsake to participants
  • Data of name profile email-ID etc. must be collected for future references & photgraphs with a thanking mail must sent to participants.

Its an excellant opportunity in your hands to enhance and prove your Management skills.

First, talk to your fellow students and form a small task force led by you.

Have people talented on different things like who can Present things well, host the show, who can draft well etc.Decide the Budget for the HR - Submit with the help of your faculties.

2.Discuss on topics in HR for the Submit and finalise at one topic. Venue as per the Budget, Approach few Corporates for Sponsors to meet your budget.

3.Need to make an Invitation for the HR -Submit, wherein you will have to introduce your college, your Faculties, and Organising commitee. Sponsors list.

4. Bring the objective of your Topic decided in the Invitation and few lines of importance of the same in the current scenario.

5. Invite your seniors, HR Managers from Corporates, HR Organisations, and Top notch in HR and do not forget to invite your Alumini.

Decide the role of your Task force once these are done.

Students from your institution who are good at presentation, let them deliver their's, then call upon the HR leaders whomever have shown thier interest to deliver their speech on the topic.

Please Organise for a Lunch or high tea, as per your Budget.

Present a Momento to all the Coroprate HR for spending thier time with you.

This can be extended to the Sponsors and Organising committee also.

hope i have covered atleast 50 - 60 % of the steps to organise a HR - Submit.

Such HR - Submit will be a stepping stone for many students to enter the corporate world.

Explore on Google search engine and NHRD network site, on that available information you can easily draft the layout. Talent management, workforce diversity,Impact of recession on HR concepts and importance of HR Department in recession are some good topics.
If you want to invite corporate personalities its a good idea as management education needs both theoretical and practical aspects. It would bridge the gap between what is taught and what is used and would provide better understanding of concepts.
Invitation and then follow up keep these two things in ur strategy to make sure their presence in ur event.

It is always better to give as much information as possible at the outset, and raise a clear and precise question. It helps to save time in asking clarifications.
If yo want to know what is the function of a HR Summit is please see HR Summit 2010 I obtained this by searching the web. However arranging a summit is not an easy task and takes a lot of time and effort. A thorough read of the material at that site will impress upon you the amount of effort and time required.
HR Directors Business Summit 2011 | The ICC Birmingham | Conference and Exhibition have announce deatils of summit to be held in Jan 2011, which is 9 months away.
