We have three casual laborers in our factory. We want to know whether PF & ESI should be deducted for casual labor or what the procedure is for providing ESI, or whether their names should be added to the muster roll as per labor law.

Dear Anjana,

PF & ESI will also be deducted for casual employees if they meet the specified criteria under the ESI & EPF Act. You can add their names to the muster roll as the muster roll is a record of your employed laborers, and it is not mentioned anywhere that you can't add them to your muster roll.
