Dear Friends,

As I am from the Hospitality Industry and have been in Training for around 5 years. During this period, I have conducted training for Visually Impaired graduates at NAB. Recently, in my organization, we have employed 2 individuals who are deaf and mute in our kitchen for the past 2 months. These individuals are doing an excellent job and are also very dedicated. They work well with everyone as a team, as they are not very talkative. They are quick learners and efficient workers, always punctual.

There are many others like them who have been trained in different fields. Why can't we proceed and employ them or help them secure employment in their trained field?

I am very passionate about helping these friends of mine. Can we collaborate and work towards assisting them in finding employment? I am already in the process of employing them in my Mumbai stores as well. Please feel free to reach out to me for any queries you may have.

Thank you.

Hi Philip,

It's great to hear from someone in the corporate world who is interested in doing social work. I, too, work in the corporate world but have a desire to help those in need. I am an HR executive in a KPO that provides financial services, and I believe we could offer opportunities to support these individuals within our organization. However, despite my efforts, my senior management does not agree with my perspective.

If there are any possibilities in the future, I will reach out to you. Perhaps together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. I am also passionate about engaging in social services.

Thank you.

Nipuna,

It's great to hear from you. I have been working and providing free training for visually impaired people. Are you in Mumbai? We can certainly get together and work towards helping them. I have time for them, do you?

You have my number here, can I have yours?

In TV, there is also a commercial for SAKTHI MASALA, which provides employment to people with disabilities (PWD). This is a good initiative by them and other companies, which is appreciated.

Even in government recruitments for certain positions, a number of seats are reserved for PWD individuals. This is a really good initiative. It is also known that companies like GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, and KPMG have employees who are PWD.

Thank you.

In the Central Government, there is a 3% reservation for physically handicapped people in employment as per the Government of India ordinance.

However, we must be cautious of Mr. Philip Sharma's intentions and projections as a sympathizer of physically handicapped people because they promote exploitation in disguise of sympathizing with low-paid workers and the phenomenon of cheap labor.

We should not take these efforts at face value as they appear to be a noble cause and efforts, but in reality, they are undermining the objective of helping rather than aiding people like Philip Sharma, who are shrewd and exploit these individuals as a business strategy for cost-cutting.

Mr. Philip Sharma, you must pay them a full salary as per the market price paid to healthy employees in your organization or any company in the market.

Hi,

Just read your message... very inspiring and motivating. I'm based out of Hyderabad and would be interested in getting associated with an individual/program/organization to help people with special needs and provide my services in training, career counseling, etc.

Would appreciate if you could share details of organizations based out of Hyderabad.

Let's make a difference... :)

Hi Captain,

You don't have to be cautious about me because I am doing this without any intention, and I am also not projecting myself as a sympathizer for such people. In my company, we pay them the same salary that others are getting and also provide all the facilities that others are receiving. You can check with Ruma Ruka from Noida Deaf Society at 9811643244.

Thanks for calling me shrewd for doing this small help for my friends, which has made me happy. Also, I have started thinking with such a reply from you; should I continue with such work or not. It's nice to have people like you on the forum who not only don't take action themselves but also don't allow others to do the same.

I agree to some extent that there may be some exploitation, but can anyone tell me a single industry other than the government sector where there is no exploitation at any level? At least they are getting their livelihood; they are becoming self-dependent. What is the harm in it? Some persons are excellent in finding problems, faults in others.

Mr. Philip, don't care, what any Captain or even a General is saying just to criticize.

Hi @Philip, I read your article. Great work I have ever seen.

My elder brother is deaf and dumb, but he can speak quite well (40% disability). He has completed his BFA (Bachelors in Fine Arts). He was interested in painting, but being rejected just because of his disabilities, he is a little depressed.

He has experience as a Nuke Artist, as he has worked with Kalp taru Studios. However, they did not offer him a salary for 6 months.

So, I request you to provide him with a job that will be suitable for him. He is now ready to move to any field.

If you want, I can send you pictures of his paintings.

Hi,

I am Sowmya. My younger brother is deaf and dumb and lives in Hyderabad. He is in his final year of M.Com. He used to work part-time in some malls, but they are gradually making these guys work very hard, even at night, so he decided to leave. Please suggest any opportunities in Hyderabad for him. He is very honest and sincere in any work assigned to him.
