There are many kinds of performance appraisal systems being practiced by organizations. I am not interested in knowing about these systems. I would like to learn about an appraisal system that can be developed and executed online in both the IT and non-IT sectors.
I invite all knowledgeable HR professionals to share their experiences and views on this online performance appraisal system so that I can explore the possibilities of developing the same to suit our requirements. I did my summer project on 'Performance Management System of BIRLA WHITE Cement' at their production unit in Jodhpur. They have an E-PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SYSTEM.
But before discussing with you, I need to know what you actually want to know or prepare for your organization - the procedure, the format, the technicalities of online performance appraisal.

To appraise anybody, there are 3 reports required from:
1. Appraisee
2. Reporting officer or superior
3. Reviewing officer or head
All that they do is weigh the qualitative and quantitative traits of the appraisee on a relative scale, which can be benchmarked for the future. List down the traits in an employee that you want to appraise and include the requirements of the 3 officers mentioned above. Good Luck.
