Hello Friends, One of the employees who joined 6 months (Experienced) ago. We have a performance issue told him multiple times in review meetings still
he is still not reaching up to the mark. Now, he approached me and said he doesn't want to continue because he isn't able to reach the company's expectations.

1. Do we need to relieve him because he has already been put in his training?

Kindly suggest how to take this further.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It is Employer's call whether to relieve or to wait and see for some more time.

Being experienced employee he should have passed through the interview process including written test if any. If Performance issue is there then why it was not identified during interview time ?

If the interview and selection process is stringent then these sort of issues can be avoided.

Now that employee itself is volunteering for separation better close the file if you feel that no point of pushing him further for performance.

Hi,

It is up to the discretion of the Employer.

Just find out where he is lacking and whether training can be imparted to the employee. Set time line. Evaluate the progress. In spite of training provided if employee is not able to grasp things then opt for separation process.

As the situation has come to this extent, I feel there is no point in retaining/retrying the employee, allow him to go gracefully. When the person is incompetent to handle the duties assigned, despite being given chances to improve, then perhaps the only commendable way is to call it quits. It appears the employee has put in papers or else persuade him so and accept the resignation.

We are ready to given him enough time to learn and we gave him chance to do whatever the area he is comfortable to wrok with.
Still he is not ready to take it up. he is not explaining where is the lack. What help he is expecting from management.
