Hi
I am Anjali. I have joined an IT company as HR manager. It is a small company with 5 employees. This company provides services like web development , designing etc. My senior officers are CEO & BDO.
So here , they gave me a directory which contains company websites and ask me to find out outdated websites and give that list to BDO. I am doing this for the past 4-5 days. I am fed up by doing this continuously. Here they are not assigning me any HR activities and as am a fresher i dont know what to do as a HR. So now am afraid of my career growth an exposure. I dont even feel like going office when i wake up in the morning. Because , here am doing something to kill time. Really dissatisfied.!
What should i do? Please provide me with your suggestions and opinion.

Dear Anjali,
First of all, I would request if you can look and search a positive aspect in your job, if you can.
A clear & open communication always helps an individual or a team to resolve any type of conflict.
You can directly have a discussion with regards to this with your seniors - this can be one way.
Another way also can be - you can prepare your own list of to dos, aspects from the future view point for that company seeing and analysing the scope of HR activities and needs, prepare a ppt, make a cost benefit analysis and then talk to them, explaining and convincing them that what can you do, for what you are appointed and how it's going to make a difference or how it is important or a must for the organisation.
Am sure, if you start thinking in these lines, if will help you and solve your problem.
Thanks.

Dear Anjali,
I agree with what Mansi have said, first you may try to explore the possible scopes in the same company and if you find that there are possibilities for you to enhance your learning then you may continue with the same company.
But going through your case, I guess that you wont find such possibilities there, as there are only 5 employees working in that company, you may not get good HR exposure there. In that case, I will highly suggest you to look for another job while continuing with the same company, as you are a fresher at this point of time you need a mentor who can guide you the practical implications of HR, so try to find out a good company where in your reporting will be to some one from HR domain, because there you will get the exposure and then you may be able to shape your career in a better way.
All the best !

Thank you for your valuable comments.
As am a fresher, i have only theoretical knowledge regarding HRM. Here i don't have any HR Supervisor to give help and to guide me. So i dont have any idea what to do here as a HR.
