Recently we have done retrenchment of around 350 workmen, now their EPF is to be withdrawn but the problem is that in beginning there were discrepancies in the spelling of name & father's name of workmen.
Eg:
Name in EPF records Name in Bank A/c
Workman Name- Ram Singh Ram Singh Rawat
Father's Name - Diwan Singh Diwan Singh Rawat
& Vice versa
Please advise how to correct same to withdrawal the EPF & EPS amount.

Dear Friend You have to write seperate letter mentioning the correst and existing name along with supporting documents and convince the PF authorities Regards Alphonse

I second the comment of Alphonse. Please prepare a detailed list for whom you wish to change the name, then submit it to the PF commissioner, try to have a discussion by getting prior appointment.
Then check with the EDP dept. of EPFO, so that if they require you can provide it in e-format for ease of change and to make the effect speed. However it is highly possible. Employer has to approach the EPFO office to make it effect.
