Can someone inform us as when to pay ESI & how much? We have recently started our oursourcing work & have applied for ESI & PF number. Our accounts person is advising us to pay 6-month ESI amount in advance. Is it correct that we should pay ESI & PF amount in advance without getting numbers.

You need not pay ESI or EPF in advance. Your establsihment will become covered from the date mentioned in the letter informing that you are covered. That letter also shows your establishment code number and the date from which contributions become payable. Therefore, you may wait till you get the letter from the respective offices.
