Thats true ... I am a manager in a firm in the HR dept.
I have an exective program in management.
Lets all accept that a DLP cannot be compared to a regular program .. see all of us working so lets look at thius example.. Can you count the experiance of an HR professional who says that he has spent three years in HR dept but was working only for one hour each day.. If you had to evaluate i am sure all of you would say that his experiance will be close to three months in total .
Even a one year program from a reputed institute would have 300*8 = 2400Hrs of academic learning besides exposure to various other disciplines.
I hope i am making sesnse to all

Hi,
Yes even i come acrossed such situation, in my case i had diff field exp in prod / qa in manufacturing industry with 07 to 08 yr exp, mean time i finished my MBA-HR in DLP, most of the asked for young fresher and full time, so i tried with small companies which clicked, now i m working as HR personnel, so dont get disappointed, better try with small organizations and learn practical things, which helps better in future.

Dear Friends,

DLP is something that has been viewed as generalistc approach and not serious as specialised education because formal education is formal education where people attend colleges fulltime for two years to obtain Masters Degree with specialisation.

How part time education can be equated with formal rigerous fulltime education? Whereas one who spend full time and another parttime cannot be given same weightage.

This is not fare so market recognised formal fulltime education as per global university norms for certification of Bachelors degree or Masters Degree which has universal recognition as equivalent education pattern followed worldwide.

For your information many institutes havebeen awarded deemed university but did anyone has reised thei question what they award? They award Diploma not degrees because they are not formal University education. Deemed is presumed as something university kind of education which is not global norm or practice for formal university education hence these deemed should have affiliation with the formal universities for validation of their education.

But who cares in India deemed university and Distance learning Programme or Open University is similar concepts as informal education.

Mostly such informal education has market place in the private sector companies but breakthrough is difficult initially to convince that you are serious candidate. But if your luck favours to got the employment, depending on your experience and ability to increase expertise in the field you are given due weightage at par with other formal education candiates because of expertise and experience level. At one stage you may supersede fellow companians just on you worth on experience or expertise here perforamnce is criteria and no one question your education.

But for this you needs little luck for break get into field and then excel from there. For remaining formal fulltime education from approved University is mandatory for jobs into government/public sector they don't recognise deemed university/DLP/Open University kind of things.
Same is the story for employment abroad where your Degree from the approved formal University is the basis no Deemed University/Open Uiversity/DLP works here because even after recognised University education most western education system recommend for advance eucation from the respective countries to validate for this your formal University Degree is basis.

I hope you got the point.

Dear Joe,
I have 13 yrs of exp in the same orgn, I started from scratch, and as years went, I got many grade promotions and after some financial constraints, the orgn has to downsize and i was the one left over to take care of all the activities of Admin, Accounts, as well as HR, reporting to Head office at Mumbai, since ours being a branch office. I seriously thought of this recession (though late), and I thougt of improving my qualification. I did MBA_HR though DLP,(How else can I?), and though balancing my official and personal works, I successfully completed my course.
But when I was searching for a carreer, in HR, after having so much exp, in varried functions(though not completely in HR domain), I was disappointed, I cudnt find a proper placement in a corporate organisation.
I am getting offers from consultancy but I felt there may not be much growth there.
Can u comment on this situation ?
regards,
Nithya
