Labour Ministry has notified section 142 of Social Security code 2020 which provides that beneficiaries under EPFO and ESIC need to seed their Aadhar number in the account w.e.f. 01.06.2021, the EPFO has issued circular that from 01.06.21 if Aadhar is not seeded in EPF account then for such employees Employer is not allowed to deposit PF contributions. The EPFO has also put a filter, the immediate fall out of this circular will burden the employer to commit default of nonpayment of statutory dues for such employees whose seeding of Aadhar is jeopardized because of some reason for which the only employee needs to initiate the process.
It is requested to send an email to concerned authorities to stay the plantation a.d conduct a special drive for seeding Aadhar and help the employees to get their details corrected for seeding Aadhar.

Yes you are right why should employer pay Interest on delayed payment without his fault? In many cases Instead of 100 reminder / request few employees are not ready to link their Aadhar and as an employer we don't have any right to do same. It is only employee who can link Aadhar to UAN. Also in case of Female employee who got married and have changed Name it is not possible to update same through online. It required Physical Joint Declaration which is not possible due to Work From Home environment plus PF department also working with 50% staff and they are also not able to process request on given time.
