i have a question here.....i have completed my hr studies,,,but many suggest me that i should learn tally............well i would like to know how important is tally in hr???????is it used on a wide scale in hr?

Tally maybe important to HR only if they want to REJECT a candidate from HR Interviews.....It would be like taking away the Accountants bread n butter.....Nevertheless out of curiosity or if one really wants to b the Master of All Trades then one should learn it else just knowing basic accounting is sufficient......rgrds

Tally is an accounting software.
it can use only finance dept for entering the company/firm day to day transactions to know the accurate balances of Liabilities , Assets , Cash and Bank Balances.
and also mandatory for companies to maintain books of records like Cash, Bank and General Legers as well as IT act and Companies act. Whenever they want they can take printout of these books thru tally.
in new Tally ERP 9.0 version they were introduced Payroll module for calculating of employees payout, to my knowledge it is not that much successful like their regular accounting module. I think they may develop widely in their upcoming versions. If they succeed H.R people can use Tally software some extent.
but these days there are lot of friendly user Payroll packages are available in market ,these packages can useful to H.R People.
