Bonus wage ceiling is Rs.10,000/- and not Rs.5000/-. Can you please clarify which amendment you are talking and post the gazette notification or circular that you have for information of all.

Demand for payment of Bonus and the sum to be so paid also decided by the employee, is not a matter of right of the employee.
Payment of Bonus is decided and declared by the management every year and paid in accordance with the Payment of Bonus Act.
In this case the demand of the employee is baseless and he should be so tols that the same cannot be entertained.

Worker drawing salary/wages Rs. 10,000 p.m. as the highest ceiling is eligible to entitle bonus, but calculating ceiling is Rs. 3,500 p.m. Those who draws salary/ wages above 10,000 p.m. are not entitled to bonus in terms of the provisions of the Payment of Bonus( as amended) Act, 1965
