Dear Ramesh Kumar ji,
The concept of sabbatical leave is not there in India. This may be in abroad which I don't know. I did googling to find out it but there is nothing much except the meaning of sabbatical.
In India, why you are planning to have this kind of leave in your HR policy?

Dear Ramesh Kumar,
Sabbatical Leave is applicable for the teachers of the University and colleges who have completed seven years of service as Reader / Associate Professor or Professor to increase their proficiency and usefulness to the University and higher education system.
A teacher, who has availed study leave, would not entitled to the sabbatical leave.
For more details of Sabbatical Leave please refer UGC guidelines 2010.
As per my knowledge, Sabbatical leave is not applicable to IT companies.

Dear Keshav, I too tried in google but not expected results. I found following link which shows Infosys implemented it.

Dear Krishna,
I saw the coverage as for faculty members in google, Thanks for your opinion, I would like to know can any one frame a policy like that if not existing for IT employees.. I am not sure on this. As per my knowledge policies are what we frame for employee welfare and smooth administration.
The concern is recently one of my employee asked for 2 months long leave for personal reasons and asked for sabbatical leave policy.

Dear Ramesh Kumar ji,
Thank you very much for giving the link of Success Story of Infosys. I read it earlier. You gave me an opportunity to read it again.
I disagree with your statement which says, this link shows sabbatical leave Infosys implemented it.
The term 'sabbatical leave' used by Sudha ji is in different contest in her domestic obligation.
