Gross monthly average wages excluding the overtime payment is to be defined as wages
EPF contribution is payable on Basic +DA, i.e gross wages less (HRA+convayance) and the epf wages should not be lower than 50% of gross salary
in case of consolidated wages, the EPF is payable on gross wages

As per Sikim Minimum wages - Minimum wages consisting of Basic & DA. For Skilled level minimum wages as per latest circular for Engineering Industry is INR 335/- per day i.e. 335/- x 26 = INR 8710/- per month. Rest amount will be other allowances.
