Ramya,
Have you checked this list with the list of holidays released by your state? If you find all the holidays you declared are their then you can go ahead. Also will you not be giving any optional holidays. Usually we have two optional holidays to be choosen from a list which has to be declared along with the holiday list.

Mr. Praveen,
Thank you fro your response.
I have checked the Maharashtra Holiday List , they have declared 18 days leaves, I think the Pvt co can declare 8 days are sufficient as per shopt act.
The difference b/w the list is Moharum, mahashivatri,Ram Navami,Mahavir ayanti,Good Friday, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar jayanti,Parsi New year,Guru Nanak Jayanti, the above holidays are not given by me. Since I think it is not required.
But I am new to Mahrastra, I have no idea which function is very important, also not read/knowledge abt shop act of maharastra
Please guide me.

Dear Ramya
1. Please check with the previous years' calendar.
2. Check with one or two key people if there was any employee grouse on the leave declared last year and if there were any, take a call on the same for this year
3. Then release
The leave you give to your organisation must suit your internal people first since it is after all for them you are doing all these
All the very best

Thank U Ram. There is no HR earlier. I have checked with MD. He said Ok, but we wants to know about the other Company declaration too. There should not be much deviation either in Date nor Holidays too.
Thanks

Since you say there was no HR earlier, don't hesitate to check with a couple of employees. Incase they suggest something which is value adding appreciate them and incorporate. Incase they suggest something which you feel might be in one or the other way detrimental to the organisation adn its activities, politely thank them for their inputs and tell them you will revert back to them
But handle rejection carefully since the next time you go to them, you might not get honest information
All teh very best

Hi,
Yes, Check with few old employees ( Not every one)...and publish....there can not be 100% matching of leave policy and days among all corporates therefore publish the calender and have a new year bang started....there would be No issues as long as New year and Ganesh Chaturthi are amongst the leaves.
Cheers!
