Dear Lavanya,
Well Firstly the sex of a person has nothing to do with the job either marketing or HR.Since you have mentioned that you are doing a dual specialization .You need to analyze what is your Forte. If u plan to take HR as a career you need to have an eye for detail, Need to be a quick Thinker,Good Communication and Negotiation Skills are a must. you also mentioned that you are quite creative which is a plus point(either HR or Marketing).A year ago I was faced with a similiar dilema as i have done a dual specialization (Marketing/HR)but i always had an inclination for HR and am quite happy with the decision i had taken then. At the end you need to have the right attitude and intrests so analyze what is your inclination/intrests and then take the right decision.
All the Best

Let be speak nacked truth, I am not making gender bias comments or anything against women But I have expereinced these psychological temptation of some of CEO's.
I worked with many PAPPE [Punjabi] CEO they prefer beauty ratherthan knowledge.
Basically, Some Loose Charactor CEO like Girls arround as entertaining atmosphere in office and therefore showcase their office culture inspiration and motivation to other make employees.
It is therefore HR being scapegoat to recruit female employees to showcase and HR become showpiece.

I fully agree with Mr.Rashid because in our observations we find most of female HR executives are merely showpiece and being showcase by CEO's.
Almost all flamboyant CEO like ladies HR Executive to entertain and frequent acknowledgement of their work and capabilities and hard working from the female HR Managers as appraciations and encouragements. They also misuse authority to accompany female HR executives for outside meetings or visiting to vendors or attending seminars just to accompany them.
They take almost all kind of liberty to get entertained at office expenses for accompany them by female HR professional as official sponsor entartainments.
I would like to also mention here that in hard and tough jobs only make HR is preferred such as manufacturing - induatrial relations, etc.

Hey these are some interesting observations and i feel most of them are true also from small & big companies.
I however still believe that HR is not about sex of an employee. This may influence the success of an employee in HR but does not have a major role. Trust me on that!!!
Its the personality, skills and ability to learn and implement at the earliest that helps you in the longer run!!! Trust me this is not HR Jazz, females are preffered in HR because HR people do not have to run around here and there & its a job that requires a lot of attention to detail, which generally females are good at. Also, they are generally more stable than their male counterparts, which make them even better for HR. Apart from them, I guess the HR is not just about females!!!
What say HR Frenz???
Thanks

Also,
As good HR people, its our responsibility to ensure that freshers and juniors are always given the best possible advice and positive responses as these advices may make or break them also.
They rely on our opinions therefore they ask these questions...
Thanks

Hi There,

I appreciate Ravi's sarcastic comments because that is his strength which no one else has observed and able to express. Lets accept such personality as unique people and respect them as individuals with diversity.

Diversity in personality is always good and its natural. Therefore I do not find any fault with sarcastic comments made by any one including Mr.RAVI.

Sofar as ladies HR is concern we also observed that most of companies such as service sector and pharma or hospitality industry recruit ladies to showcase them. Basically they do not have any fundamental HR objectives to bring any change or enhance HR but to adjust their opinion for public perception to see their organization as forward looking rather than conservative. Recruiting ladies mean they undermine the importance of HR itself to benchmark as female job in their organization.

This does not establish any credibility to this profession.
