Hi khushbu...
Unfortunately, people come with a lot of baggage and will give u gyan. What everyone forgets to mention is that "Be Yourself." It helps more than aything else. Also, don't hesitate to say, "I don't know the answer to this question. But I am a quick learner and if given a chance I will make sure I won't dissapoint you." And SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!
You will be surprised, but Honesty works more than anything else.
Have a nice day.

Dear Khushboo,
I would say the following for you:
1,Be knowledgeable about the statutory and regulatory norms that apply to the state (etc Factories act, Companies act etc)
2. Be Transparent always to discuss about your strengths and weaknesses, when asked and also an action plan to convert your weaknesses to strengths. You have to Honestly list out your strengths and weaknesses like (God in presentation, Interpersonnel skills etc and weak in speaking english, stage fear etc)
3. Always have a vision in yourlife as to what you have tobecome in future and how to achieve the same.
All the best

dear khushbu,
Im also looking for a job in hr and going through interviews now these days. what my seniors have told me that for an interview we should be well prepared for the questions like ..weaknesses?, strengths?,and how we are going to benefit the organization with our skills? etc.other then this we must have knowledge of all the topics covered under the course of MBA HR.like pf,gratuity, acts, performance appraisals etc.
take care and best of luck

We as recruiter look for the suitability of the candidate. We have defined job description and we see whether the candidate has the required competency. So before appearing for the interview, even at the time of applying, evaluate yourself whether you will fit the advertisement given by the recruiter. Nowadays, recruiter are releasing detailed job description so that you can decide whether you have the required competencies for the job required. One more aspect is in which industry you gained exposure. i.e, service, manufacturing, retail, IT, education etc., Many organisation looks for candidate from the same industry. Again HR, nowadays you have HR Generalist, Training, Performance Management etc., Where you are strong? A lot self analysis and evaluation makes you to select the organisation in which you stand a good chance to get success in the interview. This self analysis will make you more confident and you can identify your strength and areas where you need to improve.
A lengthy input. But feel more relevant for any HR professional.
