mukesh the only thng dat will help you is lot of interaction.....try to talk with people in english, if you are wrong tell them to do the correction. dont feel ashamed of that.might be u are weak in communication but might be very good in somethng lse.so without avoiding it try to improve it.....practice makes a person perfect.......dnt avoid it...try to face it...... and one more thng can help you.... read journals, newspapers, daily atleast for half an hour....talking in front of a mirror will increase your confidence...... try these out..will definitely get a good result....all the best.....

Default Anybody Help Me!

Hi Mukesh,

Which skill do you want to improve upon? Written or Verbal? Or both?

You need to identify your need which requires immediate improvement and put efforts to improve that first. Both require different set of efforts.

If you guys wish I can suggest you some activity to improve written communication skill. Nothing special is required. All we need to do is that I will throw a topic to prepare a draft on, and every interested member will prepare and post it in this forum itself. Once all drafts have been received I will post a standard draft for your verification. This will tell you what improvement you require, so that next time you will keep those point in mind and things will improve.

Let me know about your interest for the same.

Hi Mukesh!

Reading is one definite way to improve ur skills. Try starting with simpler things like the daily newspapers and magazines like India Today and Reader's Digest. Reader's Digest is damn good.......also if ur looking for specific help on the vocabulary front - try Word Power by Norman Lewis - its a phenominal book. You will also have to start slowly developing a habit of conversing in English - tell a couple of close friends and make a deal that u will only talk in English. It will be awkward at first but it will help later.......
Also - if ur a movie buff - try watching more ENglish movies - pick up DVD's which have subtitles and concentrate on the dialogues - BBC is another fatastic channel if u want to better ur English!

Hope this helps

Thx

Inorder to improve your communication skills you have to do the following which will certainly help you to improve your language skills

1. Think and speak only in English as much as possible

2. Always try to listen to English news available from TV and radios and through the websites of BBC and CNN in the net.

3. Read whatever materials that you can get hold of

4. Learn atleast 2 new words from the dictionary everybody

5. Whenever you come across any new word try to understand the word meaning and try to use it in your conversation.
