I completed degree in 2007 and applied for convocation but it got rejected. When I verified certificates there was a printing error in 3rd sem English subject for single subject marks had been printed twice like 18 and below that 17, I checked with college they confirmed that you have got 58 marks I applied for marks card correction..but I got marks card in which they again printed marks wrongly and failed giving 28 instead of giving 58 marks. Then I sent lawyer notice to bangalore university n thy corrected it to 58 n sent. this all process ended in 2013 but in between I joined a bank n submitted same document in 2010 n joined another bank in 2014 those people did back ground verifications but I explained them all this they accepted.. Now planning to join another bank but I don't know weather they will accept this because now I have got convocation certificate in which it is mentioned as I have completed degree in 2013... Instead of 2007.. Kindly suggest how should I handle with new hr now... Because of bangalore university mistake I am suffering.... I have all photo copies of printing error marks sheets.

If you have got all the necessary documents, please send a letter/lawyer’s notice to the University and get a corrected certificate.

Mr.Nathrao thanks for your suggestion... Need one more information... Year of passing will matter for employer? If I explain this issue and show photo copies of discrepancy of bangalore university will they consider? Because I have submitted same certificates in 2 other bank in which I worked for....

I would advice that rectification action is necessary.
Some company may accept some may not.
False and forged certificates are in the news anyway(Read Delhi political news).
India is a document and certificate oriented nation,so one with even slightly incorrect documents will always find trouble.

Hello Stephen Lee,
Like Nathrao suggested, GET THE CORRECTED Degree Certificate ASAP.
Such Docs are a lifelong necessity--employment being JUST ONE of the possible needs. You never know for what else you might need it later in your life. What IF you want to apply for overseas jobs....you can't obviously pin-up the whole correspondence bunch for your Visa--right?
And as regards "India is a document and certificate oriented nation" that Nathrao mentioned, he is absolutely right. If you don't have a Birth Certificate, you JUST WEREN'T BORN....never mind even IF you are physically in front of someone with 100 people saying that 'you' are 'you' :-)
All the Best.
