CXOs in India are being paid upto 60 Lacs/Month. Is such a extravagant pay package justifiable..?? Please share your thoughts..!!!

I am just curious on how come the pay packet is decided and what all parameters are taken into consideration.
And if at all the person's capability and profile are directly proportional to the remuneration being offered.

The image of a high performer CEO is what attracts companies to hire such people who have the creativity, genius and vision to lead companies from stagnation to high growth.
Huge amount of pay to one individual will pay dividends and turn the company around if he succeeds, therefore pay is no barrier for the right CEO.

Whether it is justified or not will reflect in the bottom line and am sure the owners of companies know the value add a person is doing. If they don't believe there is a value add, they will not have him. As long as its not going from your pocket, why are you worried.

Dear Tushank,
The salary for CXOs in a startup is directly calculated from the growth it promises. Recently an Ecom was looking for a product head at 50 Lacs PA. The growth promised to the Investors, is what the new role has to deliver.
Infact to be honest, the person drawing that amount will deliver a lot more, as the investor takes few X of the capital invested.
Hope that answers your question. If you are interested to research more on Startup salaries, then Buffer App is the best place to start. Open Salaries and Equity Formula
Hope this helps !
