Hi Bishi John,
Reading your post is like reading a puzzle. You could have paid some more attention and read the draft again before clicking the submit button.
If I make the correct guess GD is group Discussion; is it not? GK (written in small letters as ‘gk’ – is it General Knowledge?) To do well in Group Discussion you need to practice with exercises in “spoken language.”
Make sure you devote sufficient time every day. In my opinion your English needs a lot of improvement. Read your draft again and see how you can break them into smaller sentences so that the mistakes get eliminated.

Thank you sir for your help. I will follow what u have said. yes i do know that my English needs a lot of improvement will try do do whatever u have said. sir may i know what type of Exercises i need to practice ?
And for GD (Group discussion ) In my Class people who don't have a good command on English they speak very nicely . so my questions is even though their English is not good how they are able to speak . Is it because their Gk is good ?

Dear Bishi John,
I think you should forget comparing yourself with others.
Be your own competitor and raise the bar every time.
To do better please try Cite HR archives.
Type “Spoken English” inside the box WHAT DO YOU NEED
that you find in the title bar right above.
After typing in the box, press the 'research' button next to it.
You will get lot of information.
You can also refer "Related Information" and 'Download Thread'
that you find in the right side of this message.
Repeat the process for “Improving English” and the likes, one by one of your choice.
Sincere efforts would be always rewarding.

Hi Bishi John,

I agree with the comments of V Raghunathan. Please follow his advice to improve your spoken English.

Do not compare yourself with others. Rather focus on developing yourself.

Thorough preparation is required to participate properly in GD. Do some surfing on the internet and you will get lot of information about what traits the company observes through GD. How to speak, when to speak, remaining focused on the topic, not to cut others when they are speaking, giving time to others to speak, how effectively do you speak, your voice modulation/ subject knowledge/ ability to speak coherently - these are some of the things the selectors observe.

Think with a cool mind - is your problem English speaking or is it lack of confidence.

I am a certified Coach and Trainer. I conduct workshops on subjects like Interview and GD Skills. I also conduct one-on-one Coaching and Mentoring sessions to help youngsters develop confidence and qualify Interview/ GD.

Dear Bishi John, others have given you sound advice though your query lacks enough details. Could you kindly give some examples of the topics used in GDs and your knowledge about those topics?

Dear Bishi,
Your problem doesnt lies in lack of english or lack of knowledge, but it lies in lack of ability to come out with your own convections. Be brave enough to come out. In GDs what matter the most is the initiative taken by one to speak up and to place their point. Dont struggle with urself whether to speak or not, but come out and speak. Lack of knowledge might be problem sometime but not everytime. My general suggestion to you is that, just try to analyse whether you are able to speak loudly and confidently when you are with your family and friends? If your answer is yes, then its surely a confidence problem nothing else. Just believe in you and go ahead. Skills are developed over time, all what is needed is just a start and then continuous trial.

Dear Bishi
If you swimming, then you know that without entering into the river or swimming pool, you can't learn it.
so the best way is start speaking in GDs, without any hesitation.
you may not perform well maximum in the first 3 GDs, but then sure you will be the winner.

Dear Bishi John
To improve your English language skills in spoken and written version, you just have to devote time in hearing English News telecast 24 x 7 by leading english news channels. You may not sit and watch the TV all the time. Just switch on to the news and keep doing your work but lend your ears to the audio. By this way you will certainly improve your english speaking skills over a period of time, besides, GK and Current Affairs, you will be able to capture the crux involuntarily.
Besides read good English articles or make it a habit of reading English dailies like The Hindu , Times of India to fast track your English vocabulary and more importantly your confidence levels. Many non-English medium students have picked up their English skills just like that.
Have the will and confidence, you will come out with flying colors.
