Hi friends,
I have a query in ESIC. i clearly understand from the other topics on ESI that the
employee contribution is 1.75% per month on gross salary of 10,000 and below,
employer's contribution is 4.75%/month on gross salary of 10,000 and below,

but want to know how can they claim it???????? Will the employee get it encashed once he resigns or it can only be derived by directly visiting the ESI for treatment. Please clarify..............

Dear Ajitha,
ESIC is basically a employees beneficiary insurance scheme in which the contribution amount by both the employee and employer is non claimable but both of them get medical aid in event of any accident, sicness or medical emergency, however ESIC reimburse the amount spent on treatment of an employees during above cases and also pays amount up to some percentage in case of employee absenteeism with regard to medical grounds.
for all these diffrent forms and procedures are available with the ESIC and they have a largest chain of hospitals and dispenceries where the treatments are done free for covered employees.
on the part of employer by paying contribution it covers all the risks involved in event of any industrial accident and sickness of employees.

Rahul
